Depth of field is how much of the photograph is in focus based on distance, meaning the subject closest to the camera is in focus and the background is not.
Step by step guide:
There are two different kinds of depth of field- minimum and maximum depth of field.
Minimum being when the foreground is in focus and the background is not and Maximum being where everything in the photograph is sharp and in focus.
Minimum Depth of Field
- Get close to your subject
- Make the aperture bigger(a smaller number)
- Use a larger zoom
Maximum Depth of Field
- Get far away from your subject
- Make the aperture smaller(a bigger number)
- Use a smaller Zoom.
