Why Chosen: I have chosen this photographer because his work is very different from other macro photographers I have looked at. Also I like his images because it shows his fun personality and the image come across as very funny when looking at them.This photographer focusses on water droplets and reflections within the water drops made, he also takes a number of images of water splashes with vibrant colours and bubbles. I like the mystery of the photographs because until you look closely you do not notice the funny reflections in the water drops. 

In this image you can see that the a dripping water from the trap has been captured in movement. The photographer has then edited a reflection of the monster from Monsters Ink. This is very effective because it portrays humour through the image. The subject is in focus but the background has been blurred to show the clear outline of the water drop.










 
This image captures the movement of a water splash. Due to the fact the image is a close up you can see the tinny reflection of a car in side the bubble from the film "Cars". The background has been blurred and the lighting used is shadowy and fairly dark.   

This image is another humorous photograph from Dave Wood. He has used a character from the film " The incredibles". The background has been blurred to make the bubble the main focus. The lighting looks very natural. The composition of this image having the bubble in the centre of the image draws the audience attention to the image and they directly look at the reflection, whereas in other images the reflection wasn't as obvious, you had to look closely. 

In this image you can see the splash that has been captured. You can see the water rings that are created in the water when the splash is made. There is contrast between the different colours of blue int he image. The background used is dark blue/navy. The lighting used is vibrant and reflected on the background to make the water look blue. You can see that the outer circle of the splash is dar blue and almost looks spiky and sharp.  




Influence: This photographers work has influenced me to show my own personality through my images. He has also influenced me to be more creative with my ideas as his idea is very creative and unique.

Summary: Overall this photographer has influenced me as I am very eggier to take my own photographs of water splashes as I like the use of colours and the movement it captures that you wouldn't normally notice. I am not very interested in this photographers work anymore as I have found that his images are all very much the same and do not link in with my work as much as I thought they would.

My Own Work: 

This image is my own photograph that I took as a result of being inspired by the use of water in Dave's work. I liked the blue colour scheme used in Dave's picture above of the water splash, therefore when I did my own shoot I decided to use blue food colouring. Both my image and Dave's photograph links due to the use of water within photography, the blue colour scheme is the same and both images are close ups.
