Work Diary- 4th Shoot

During todays lesson I did a studio shoot for my personal project of close ups. I used a number of different coloured crayons and melted them with a hair dryer so the colours would drip down the canvas. I then took close up images of the patterns the crayons created. If I was to do this shoot again I would use paper instead of the canvas because in some of the images you can see the lines on the canvas and it doesn't look very effective.

I used the same picture but edited it in two different ways, the first picture the crayons are black and white then the melted crayon is in colour & then the second image is the opposite way around. If I was to take this image again I would make sure that the crayons are in a straight line because I feel the image would then look better.

In this image I took it closer up than the previous image, therefore you can only see a selection of the colours. However due to the fact that the image is rather close you can imagine the texture of the melted crayons and you can actually see the dripping movement. If I was to take this image again I would think about the composition of the photo more.

My inspiration behind this shoot came from the photographer Corrie White as her phonographs included vibrant colours against a plain white or black background. Therefore I water to include this in my work.

As a result of this shoot I am going to carry on incorporating vibrant colours within my work as it is more eye catching and makes my photographs look more appealing to look at. For my next shoot I am going to photograph different coloured shells to show the contrast between the different colours, both soft neutral colours and vibrant colours.
