Work diary- 6th Shoot

During this lesson I did a studio shoot of flowers. I took close up images and extreme close up images to capture the detail and the beauty of the flowers. I used the boom life for lighting as I wanted the light directly on the flowers. If I was to do this lesson again I would get more vibrant coloured flowers as I felt the big red/yellow/orangey flower looked the best.

In this image I have taken an extreme close up of the centre of the flower. The flower appears to be a lot bigger than it would seem to be in reality due to the viewer not having any idea how big the flower actually is because it's so close. You can see the sharp outline of the flower and the contrast between the different colours. If I was to take this image again I would experiment with the different ways & angles I could take the picture.

In this image I put a number of images together to make a multiple imagery price. To make this I used separate pictures and put them together to build the flower as a whole again, almost like a photo joiner but within a multiple imagery price. I used a white background as I waned the images to be bright & summery. If I was to make this multiple imagery piece again I would change the shadow effect as I think it is too much and takes away the focus of the image.

My inspiration behind this shoot came from the photographer Heather Angel as she was a macro photographer and focussed on taking photographs of flowers, however she mostly focused on sections of the flowers, for example: the centre of the flower or the edge section of the flower.

As a result of this shoot I have found that the use of bright colours have still been used and would still like to carry this on in my future shoots but in a different way. I have also found that I like the use of multiple imagery pieces within my work, therefore I will be continuing this further. In my next shoot I would like to photograph eyes and either make an animation of the eye changing colour or a multiple imagery of the same eye but different colours to incorporate the use of bright colours.
