Work Diary- 9th Shoot

During this lesson I did a studio shoot for my personal project of Close Ups. I took close up images of cubed chocolate stacked on top of one another. I used milk chocolate, dark chocolate and bubbled chocolate to show the contrast between them and the difference in textures. If I was to do this shoot again I would get chocolate sauce and having it dripping down the chocolate to make it look as if its melting.

In this image I again stacked the chocolate on top of one another but did it in a very messy way and had the chocolate laying in all different ways and angles, i then took the image from directly in front of the chocolate. I used a white background and lighting to light both the background and the chocolate. If I was to take this image again I would experiment with the different angles I could take the image from.
In this image I stacked the chocolate at and angle so it looked like it was falling towards the camera. During the editing process I blurred the background to make the stacked up chocolate the main focus of the image. I stacked the bubble chocolate & the bubble chocolate together as they contrasted well together when looking at both the textures and the colours. If I was to take this image again I would see what it looks like on a black background.

My inspiration behind this shoot came from my previous shoot that I had done of fruit as I liked close up images of food as I felt it looked very appealing.

As a result of this shoot I have found that I like to use the studio rather than location but also I like the white background better than the black background as I feel in this shoot it highlights the colour of the chocolate and makes it stand out. After this shoot I have realised that I have done a number of shoots of objects/products and not many of people, therefore for my next shoot I am going to photograph peoples features.
